Bloggers Party Abuja 2014: Event Highlights featuring Charles Novia @charlesnovia, Simon Ateba @Simonateba, Jenny Chisom @Jenny_chisom et al

6pm on Friday, December 5th at the upscale Barcardi fine dining and lounge of House Forty Three located at Maitama Abuja, class and intelligence met as Nigeria's finest bloggers and blog users gathered to unwind. The event was the much talked about Second Bloggers Party Abuja.
Drawn from Lagos, Anambra and Abuja the host city, prominent bloggers deliberated, networked, danced and forged a bond that was unequal.
It was the Second edition of what is Nigerian's foremost and biggest party for bloggers organised yearly by the LOGiN Bloggers Network, a bloggers development arm of Logos Audibles initiated by content-entrepreneur, Jenny Chisom Opara.
The Bloggers party had in attendance Simon Ateba, an award winning African Journalist / blogger based in Lagos who spoke on the issue : "Eliminating Violence against Women in the Media". It was an impromptu discussion session that had bloggers
and participants deliberate on the VAPP Bill, and other infrastructure that will protect the violated and punish the violated in society. It was an expose into the life of women in media and how they triumph against all odds. Ateba blogs at www.simonateba.com
The theme of this year's party was "Wetin You Dey Blog Sef?", and award winning Nigerian movie maker, Charles Novia spoke on the topic "The strategy of Niche blogging". This session was at the core of the party talk show as bloggers saw the need to not only concentrate on a particular industry niche but explore other niches with large prospects and followership like Agriculture, Manufacturing, Law, Human Rights, Persons with Disability, Sports, Moms, Babies, Family life and more.
Novia as a social commentator and an unapologetic one at that bared his mind on why bloggers should be original and have a unique identity. It was eye opening for both fellow bloggers and entrepreneurs present that Novia first started blogging but Google couldn't accept to place ads/pay him initially but same Google has just written to him to place ads on his blog after he reinvented and started his social commentary majorly on www.charlesnoviadaily.com. This is the fate of some bloggers, and cancels out the erroneous belief that you must blog 'everything' to gain traffic and relevance and highlights that uniqueness in a niche is key.
The bloggers party brought together bloggers in breaking news, entertainment, business, social comentary, human rights, politics, education and more as well as entertainers, online payment gateway giants, media producers, celebrity photographers, lawyers, writers, consultant, government officials, event planners, and more.
One thing was obvious at the ambience that House Forty Three provided: bloggers hold the key to any nation's development and must not be ignored.
Official photos are coming soon. Watch this space!

How To Make Money Blogging In 2021 That No One Is Talking About

There are many ways to make money blogging that many bloggers have succeeded at. In 2021 with the recent happenings especially with many remotely done jobs, blogging has further evolved across the sectors. For me, since 2009 when I created my first blog, which was a copy editing and publishing blog, I have made money consistently. The reason I think of blogging in business terms could be because of the way I began. My motivation at the time was to attract to my small business at more paying clients. When my friend, Okey Azubuike showed me how powerful a blog could be in place of a regular website at the time, I took the challenge and never looked back.
